Friends of the Children
A non-profit near and dear to my heart. Children born into poverty are at risk for dropping out of school, substance abuse, incarceration and teen parenting. Friends of the Children provides a salaried, professional mentor, called a Friend, for their entire childhood, from kindergarten through graduation. 12.5 years. No matter what.
Partial proceeds go to this charity. Please connect with me if you are interested in matching funds.
Angel Squad
Angel Squad is a group I co-founded in 2015. Based in Portland, OR our mission is to increase positive awareness for nonprofit agencies and local issues by blogging and sharing stories after personally visiting an organization’s operation. Also to honor and serve the time and dedication of an agency’s leadership. We are a group of dynamic, professional women who are committed to finding out more about our community through a hands on approach of learning about the non-profits that serve our community.
We also grant funds through philanthropic entities. Please click below to follow our Facebook page.
Nonprofit Highlight: Transitional Youth
Transitional Youth works to bring hope and healthy transformation to at-risk youth in Oregon and Washington. We believe relationship is key to discipleship. It starts with a meal, a conversation, and unconditional high regard.
It’s estimated there are 500 homeless youth in downtown Portland alone. There are hundreds more across the metro area and even more aging out of foster care and other youth agencies.
